We would especially like to thank the team at IEEE Photonics Society—it was a joy to work with you all on this project and we are thrilled with the outcome. Congratulations!
About the Competition
The WebAwards is considered one of the premier award recognition programs for website developers and the online marketing community. Run by the Web Marketing Association, this competition tasks judges from around the world with reviewing websites across 96 industries. The winning websites, they write, “set the standard of excellence for all website development.”
What Makes a Website a WebAward Winner?
Each site is judged on each of the seven criteria, earning a score between 0 and 70 points. The highest score in each industry wins “Best Website” for that industry. In the “Associations” category, the IEEE Photonics Society’s website earned 63 out of the possible 70 points—17 points above the industry average. Scoring is based on design, innovation, content, technology, interactivity, copywriting, and ease of use. The judges offered the following comment: “An engaging design, well branded, good UX and well-presented content, clear navigation and sound execution, well done.”
