We have great news to share! HDG has won three major awards for the redesign of the Jersey City Office of Cultural Affairs website. A combination of gold, silver and outstanding website awards, this website project has been recognized by the Davey Awards, the w3 Awards, and the WebAwards.
The website for the Office of Cultural Affairs is used to promote, sustain, and develop the cultural heritage of Jersey City. It is the primary source of information for cultural events and activities in the city, and opportunities for artists of all disciplines.

About the Awards Received:
The Davey Awards is an international awards program, honoring outstanding marketing and creative work exclusively from small shops, boutique agencies, internal creative teams and independent creators. The media types honored include Websites, Design & Print, Video, Advertising & Marketing, Mobile Apps & Sites, Social Media, Branded Entertainment, Emerging Tech and Podcasts.
- Who is behind the Davey Awards:The Davey Awards is evaluated by the Academy of Interactive and Visual Arts, an assembly of industry leaders from acclaimed brands, agencies and institutions like National Geographic Society, PGA TOUR, University of California Berkeley, NASA/Jet Propulsion Laboratory, Netflix, Digital Surgeons, Global Hotel Alliance, AKA NYC, SapientRazorfish and more.
- Reviewing and Awarding: Only around 20% of all entries are selected as Gold Winners. Other outstanding entries are Silver Winners. Best in Show selections are made by the Academy, from the pool of Gold Winners, based on their scoring and other elements of merit as determined by the Academy.
W3 Awards – General Websites, Arts & Culture – Silver Award
The w3 Awards honors creative excellence on the web, and recognizes the people behind award-winning Websites, Online Marketing, Web Video, Mobile Sites and Apps, Social, Podcasts, and Emerging Tech. In honoring the best of the Web, the w3 Awards is the first major digital competition to be accessible to the biggest agencies, the smallest firms, and everyone in between. Small firms are as likely to win as Fortune 500 companies and international agencies. They receive thousands of entries annually from across the globe from Advertising agencies, PR Firms, Digital Agencies, In-house creative professionals, Web Designers, Graphic Designers and more.

WebAwards – Website Redesign, Arts – Outstanding Website Award
Now in its 17th year, the WebAward program is the longest running annual website award competition dedicated to naming the best Web sites in 96 industries while setting the standard of excellence for all website development.
- Who is behind the Webawards: The Web Marketing Association is the producer of the WebAward Competition. The Web Marketing Association was founded in 1997 to help set a high standard for Internet marketing and development of the best websites on the World Wide Web. Staffed by volunteers, this organization is made up of Internet marketing, online advertising, PR, and top web site design professionals who share an interest in improving the quality of online advertising, internet marketing, and website promotion.
- Reviewing and Awarding: .WebAwards are granted at three levels. Sites that receive the highest average score from the judges within a given industry category are awarded a “Best of Industry” WebAward. Remaining sites will then be judged against a standard of overall excellence and quality for either an Outstanding WebAward or Standard of Excellence WebAward based upon the total score given to the entry by the WebAward judges.
